Daniel Gustavo Montamat
Economist, public accountant, and lawyer
He holds a Master’s in Economics from Michigan State University, a PhD in Economics from the Catholic University of Córdoba, and a PhD in Law and Social Sciences from the National University of Córdoba.
He served as Director of Gas del Estado (1985-1986), Director and President of YPF S.E. (1987-1989), Secretary of Energy of the Nation (1999-2000), and Director of YPF S.A. (2015-2020).
He is currently a consultant for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and research for international forums related to energy. He is a Postgraduate Professor at CEARE (Center for the Study of Energy Regulation) at the University of Buenos Aires.
In 1991, he founded Montamat & Asociados, a consultancy firm based in Buenos Aires, providing advisory services to public and private entities in Argentina and Latin America on energy and environmental issues.
He is the author of several books on economic and energy topics. His latest book, published by EUDEBA, is “The Petroleum Rent in Argentina.”
He was honored by the Honorable Senate of the Nation with the Domingo Faustino Sarmiento Merit Diploma for his contribution to the formation of basic consensus and state policies in the energy sector.
